MOT Logo

NMT Garage Services is a VOSA certified MOT test centre based on Windsor Road in Bedford. They are able to perform MOT tests on Class IV, Class V and Class VII vehicles, accommodating both commercial and domestic customers across Bedford and the surrounding area.

Tests start at £30 and are carried out by our team of experienced and highly skilled mechanics from our garage in Bedford. Our technicians carry out each and every inspection, ensuring that any repairs or tests comply with the appropriate standards. We also offer a free retest within 7 days should your vehicle fail its first test. We also house the right equipment to be able to carry out any repairs to make sure your vehicle passes with flying colours the next time round.

When do you need an MOT?

All vehicles registered after 1960 will require a year MOT test to ensure they are roadworthy. This test must be carried out no later than 1 year after its previous test, but you can have your test carried out one month, minus a day, to keep the same renewal date.

Are there any vehicles that are exempt from an MOT?

New cars do not usually require an MOT for the first 3 years after they are registered; this can typically be found on the V5C for the car. The first MOT must be completed for new cars no later than 3 years after it was registered. In addition to new cars, vehicles which were registered before 1960 do not require an MOT, as well as some other vehicles. You will, however, need to ensure that you have submitted a declaration of exemption from MOT.
